Atmospheric Region of God
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13
The word that in Greek is hina, which means in “order that” distinction takes place. For an individual to be distinguishable from the lower atmospheric region or lower nature something has to happen for him to be included in the higher and rarer atmospheric region of God. What does this mean?
Natural man thinks and exists at a lower level than God. This type of man is temporal and has the nature of a Girgashite (dwelling on clayey soil). He is concerned with the here and now. He’s not interested in eternal matters. The cares of this world are the things he focuses on.
“And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.” Mark 4:19
By having this focus, this type of man has chosen to be under the lordship of the rulers of darkness of this world (Ephesians 6:12).
The man that follows Christ knows, “They are not of the world” even as Christ was not and is not of this world (John 17:16).
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:34
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
Believers are called to a higher realm of existence. We rule in heavenly places, with sound minds, power, authority, and love (2 Timothy 1:7).
“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6-7
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” Ephesians 1:18-23
The armor of God distinguishes us from fleshly or soulful men. It transforms us into mighty warriors of God, able to advance the kingdom by wielding the weapons of God against all who oppose the establishment and advancement of His kingdom.
Each one has to decide what he or she will do with the armor (gifts) of God. However, those who desire to remain standing will put on the whole armor of God and be ready to engage the enemy where ever he is found.
