Offer Praise Unto the Lord

“Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD.” Psalm 135:1

The Hebrew word halal is used for the word praise in Psalm 135:1. It means to praise, be made praise worthy, to be commended, and to be worthy of praise. However, its primary meaning is to shine, to flash forth light, or to be boastful.

Whenever we praise God, we are emitting light! We are flashing forth light into a dark world. Similarly, when we choose to withhold our praise we allow darkness to spread and permeate the world.

As servants of God, we are to emit light for we are children of light. We are to praise him in order to disperse his nature continually. We are to do the will of the Father, which is to shatter the darkness with the power of his light.

In the beginning, light pierced through the darkness (Genesis 1:3). Whenever a darkened mind encounters the truth of God, the light pierces the darkness (Ephesians 4:17-19, Colossians 1:21). When we release our praise into the atmosphere, we are piercing thorough strongholds, principalities, and weakening their grip over our lives, circumstances, and over the earth. Our praise is an assault on the kingdom of Satan.

This week release your praise unto the Lord. Flash forth light and beat back the powers of darkness from around you and your household. Usher in greater light in the name of Jesus. As long as you have breath, praise the Lord!

“Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalm 150:6
