Pray for Others
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
It is our duty to pray all kinds of prayers for all men regardless of position, rank or station in life. We are to lift all before the throne of God whether they are related to us or not.
This week’s challenge is to lift others up before the Lord with all sorts of prayers. We can thank God for their lives and for the blessing, they have been. We can ask God to make a way for them to be saved or delivered from the camp of the enemy. We can ask God to forgive them for wrongs they have done to others, and to preserve their live or restore their health. We can beseech the Lord to intervene in their lives or circumstances.
The list of things that we can seek God for is endless. We can petition him to pour out wisdom, grace, favor, blessings, correction, or deliverance. The key to seeing our prayers answered is to be in one accord with Holy Spirit.
The following scriptures may be of assistance as you press in with this week’s challenge.
“But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing ” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.” Luke 23:34
“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” Matthew 5:44
“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Luke 6:28
“Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.” Acts 7:60
