Deviant National Spirits
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12
Many deviant spirits are loose in the world today. They collaborate with our uncrucified flesh often unbeknownst to us. These spirits are “familiar spirits” for have been around us since before we began to know ourselves. Furthermore, they know the area, the history, and the lineage of the people in the area therefore; they can impersonate anyone from any era at any time.
Territorial Experts
National spirits are experts on their territory. They know how to encourage and feed an overzealous nature for our nation, country or island. These spirits cause us to act very prideful based on where we come from. They get us to elevate people from our place of birth while debasing people from other places. This sows division, completion, strife and contention among people even in the house of God. These spirits pit themselves against the spirit of unity and oneness which is of God (Ps. 133:1, John 17:22).
Objective of Deviant Spirits
They have one objective, which is to cause us to love the world. They train us in their ways through indoctrination and they manipulate us through our emotions. Their purpose is to corral us like cattle and cause us to become full of the pride of life, which is not of God. Often they will institute yearly ceremonies in order for us to reaffirm our commitment to them and to ensnare others into the fold of darkness. They disguise their sinister plots with revelry and celebrations where people are blinded to what is being sown in the spiritual realms.
“Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” 1 Corinthians 10:7
When other spirits leads us, we are worshiping another god and such actions will not please God.
“And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.” 1 Corinthians 10:2-6
If we are not mindful, we can be swept away, back into the kingdom of darkness through national pride. National pride exults itself over the kingdom of God. It boasts that our citizenship in a nation is more important than our citizenship in God’s kingdom. Furthermore, it lifts up these spirits over the spirit of Jehovah in that we follow their programming and do their bidding, which is in opposition to the kingdom of Heaven. How can we truly love another if we feel that we are better than them? Or that our nation is better than theirs? Are we not all part of the family of God?
Dangers of Yielding to Deviant Spirits
When we yield ourselves to this line of thinking we become slaves of these national spirits and our end will not be one sown in spiritual righteousness but of decayed of flesh.
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” Romans 6:16
Benefits of Possessing the Spirit of God
We have received the spirit of God so that we may know what has been given to us by God therefore, there is no reason for us to allow our hearts and minds to continue to be influenced or guided by other spirits. Beginning today ask Holy Spirit to help you discern what God has freely given to you. Ask him to expose every area in your life where another spirit is still operating.
