“The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” Romans 13:12
Many of us have made at least one New Year’s resolution. A resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something according to the dictionary. When we came to Christ, we also made a resolution, a life resolution. At that point, we decided that we would live for the Lord and not for the devil.
Unfortunately, over time, our commitment may have slipped and we found ourselves once more ensnared in the muck and mere of sin. The wonderful thing about God is that he is the God of “multiple” opportunities.
If you are ready to cast off darkness and put on the armor of light once more than don’t delay, begin right now.
Step 1
In your journal book, list all the areas in which you have fallen short. Note all the areas in which you have partnered with darkness.
Step 2
Draw a line of separation on your page. Now list the counter to those areas. You want to claim all for the kingdom of light. For example, if you want to get rid of pride you write to be humble by the grace of God. If you want to get rid of anger, then list to live in the love and to be a purveyor of love.
Step 3
Once you have finished your list pray over it. Repent for what you need to and then pray in what you desire to see manifested in your life. Declare all that you desire aloud. Record today’s date. When your prayer request is answered return and record the date. This is your record of remembrance. God answers every prayer in due season.
