“For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.” Romans 7:15-17
What are some of the things that you do that you wish you did not do as a believer? Is it lying? Stealing? Envying what others have? Is it being covetous? Is it losing your temper or refusing to forgive others when they wrong you?
Each one of us has something in our lives that we do and wish we did not do. Our fallen nature can at times over power us and lead us in the ways of captivity to sin. When we realize what we have done shame, guilt, and condemnation try to cover us with darkness so that we hide in the shadows.
It is imperative that when this happens we expose our sin to the light of Jesus through repentance and confession. If we do not then the enemy has room to advance and spread out. Our duty as believers is to evict, demolish, and make a mockery of the enemy as Christ did. Under no circumstances are we to allow the enemy to make a mockery of the finished work of Christ or of our salvation.
Step 1
Are you willing to confess the areas in which you have fallen short? Take a few minutes and list them down. Ask Holy Spirit to help you to go deeper than you have before.
Step 2
With the guidance of Holy Spirit list, the character traits or virtues of the kingdom that you want rooted in your being.
Step 3
Open your mouth and speak destruction to the kingdom the enemy was building within you. Speak as Holy Spirit gives you utterance.
