“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12
As a believer, you are part of the kingdom of God. According to Matthew 11:12, God’s kingdom advances one-way with violence. This indicates that there are forces that are at war against the progression of God’s kingdom. As part of the citizenship, your life will be touched by violence.
However when the enemy opposes us, attacks us, or hinders our progression often we are surprised. Why should we be surprised? Often we become disheartened, disillusioned, depressed, frustrated or lose our faith.
When the enemy attacks us this is a good sign because it lets us know that, we are doing something correctly, to the point that he now needs to step in and oppose us. Furthermore, it is an opportunity for us to advance the kingdom of God in our lives but also on the earth.
What was your response the last time the enemy attacked you? Did you advance the kingdom or did the kingdom lose ground?
Step 1
Use your journal and log your most recent encounter with the enemy. What did you do? How do you feel about your response?
Step 2
Is there anything that you want to do differently?
Step 3
Pray over it and ask the Lord to help you redeem the situation to the advancement of the kingdom of God.
