Pray for Your State

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1

The powers that govern are ordained of God! He alone raises men and takes them down for he controls time and governs all seasons.

“And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” Daniel 2:21

As his representatives in the earth, we are to pray God’s will in the earth. Pray he will guide the hearts of our leaders and government officials turning them if need be to establish righteousness in our city, state, and nation.

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” Proverbs 21:1

God is not limited in what he can do in any given situation but he is limited in what we allow him to do. This week’s challenge is to allow God to move in our government.
