Cast Your Cares on the Lord

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalms 5:22

It is easy to speak the words that we will cast our cares on the Lord, but it is extremely hard to do at times! Our doom and gloom thoughts ensnare us and compel us to hold on to our burdens. Our renegade and rebellious emotions convince us that only we can deliver ourselves from the present troubles.

The truth is that most of the times our thoughts and emotions are being whipped into a frenzy by our souls and encouraged by the enemy. Satan moves in with a front of deception and sends winds of chaos our way so that we become more unsteady so that he can over throw us.

When we implement the command of God and give him the situation, it establishes our judgments, thoughts, and emotions in the firmness of his being, solidifies the foundations that under-gird us, and makes it impossible for the enemy to overthrow us!

This week’s challenge is to live the life of one who casts his or her care on the Lord. Not just in word, but in deed.
