Come Lord

“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” John 15:15

Today’s challenge is simple and fun. Choose one area where you would like to invite God. Let it be an area where you normally do not think about inviting him (cooking, exercise, knitting, watching television, etc.).

As you do this activity talk with him. Make jokes, ask for advice, and share with him your plans as you would a familiar friend. Christ calls us his friend because he makes known to us all that he has heard from the Father. However, we are to also operate as friends where we share with him the things that we know, do, understand, think, and contemplate. This allows him to help us decipher them are they good or evil, are they true or false.

Over our lifetimes, there will be many things we will hear but not all of them are true. There are many things that may have learned but they are not necessarily beneficial. It is by inviting Christ in that useless information, habits, and beliefs will be removed. As we spend time with him, and he with us we will learn what things need to be thrown away. He will enable us to declutter our lives, restructure our thoughts, renew our minds and release creative abilities that have lain dormant within us.
